We have a creative approach to learning and within each class the teachers provide a wide variety of experiences that promote independent thinking.
We reflect on the skills we have used in our work using the thinking skills wall.
Each week we have a question in our thinking area.
To calm down after playtime or before starting work we use our chill skillls. We Share our feelings everyday and make shared rules for our learning.

KEY STAGE 2
In Years 5 & 6...
????? We have so many questions ?????
We use question boards to help us start each new theme/topic. If we have a question about our topic we write it on a post-it and put it on our classroom board. During our lessons we try to find the answers to our questions.
Each week we have group and class discussions. We suggest things that we would like to discuss. Here are just some of the things we talked about in the first half of the Spring term:-
We also have a 'BIG QUESTION' to consider - this half term, our BIG QUESTION is
What is a soul?
Here are just a few of our ideas:
"It is the good ghost inside you that helps you choose right from wrong".(Libby)
"It makes you who you are, you would be empty without it." (Gabby)
"I think your soul is reincarnated and it could be put inside an ant!" (Eliza)
"You are given a new spirit when you are born." (Akeel)
"It makes your emotions and feelings." (Molly)
"Without a soul, you would be a zombie!" (Rohan)
What is IPG? IPG stands for individual, paired and group. In our lessons we use IPG to develop our individual thinking, talking and debating skills.
